Atlanta Photo Studio Fall Mini Sessions! {Atlanta Georgia Portrait Photographer}

It’s time for Fall Sessions! These are great sessions when you are just looking to update the family photo and get a nice image for your holiday cards. We only do these a few times per year so take advantage while they are here!

Fall Sessions are 30 minutes for up to 4 family members. You will have 6-8 fully edited proofs to choose from in an online gallery. The session includes 1-8×10 and 2-5×7 prints along with a digital file of your choice for your holiday cards. You will also receive a 15% discount on any additional a la carte items. $50 retainer is required to book your session. There are only 5 sessions available so contact us if you are interested in a session!

Fall Sessions will be held at Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, GA on Saturday, October 22 from 4-7pm. Sessions are booked by appointment only.

Back to School Senior Special! Calling Class of 2012 {Gwinnett County Georgia Senior Portrait Photographer}

School will be starting soon and in honor of the class of 2012, we are having a senior portrait special for the month of August!! This is a short, 30 minute session at a location within 10 miles of our home studio. Perfect if you just need a few senior photos! This session includes one digital file and 2-5×7 prints. Approximately 10 proofs to choose from. Additional prints, products and digital files will be available for purchase.

Family Time: July 4th Weekend

We headed up to South Carolina today to celebrate the 4th with a great family cookout. We all gathered at Oconee State Park and let the good times roll!! Not long after the grill masters fired up that grill, we heard huge claps of thunder! The rain rolled in for a short storm and the guys pulled the food off the grill just in the nick of time!! Food was great and family time was even better We wish you all a wonderful 4th. Be safe and cherish the time you spend with family

After several requests, I decided to teach a small Intro to Photography class. I only took on 2 students so that I could get a feel if this was something I wanted to continue with and to also see if I was any good at teaching I think the class went really well and hopefully the ladies will chime in and give their opinion. It was a lot of fun and I may start offering these several times a year if there is enough interest. If you think you would like to take a photography 101 class, give me a call or send an email and we will set it up! This is something brand new for Atlanta Photo Studio so pricing and schedule of classes is still in the works. Email for more details. I like being able to give you one on one attention so classes will be limited to no more than 5 people.

Please note that this is a basic beginner, one day class for people who just want to learn more about their new DSLR camera and take better photos. The goal is to get you off the safety of auto mode and find some more creative ways to shoot!

Last Saturday my mom and I went to a jewelry class at Atlanta Bead Market. My mom recently began making jewelry and really wanted to take a class on free form wire so I tagged along with my camera. Bead store owner, Judy DeWitt, welcomes everyone though the door as if you have been friends for years! She didn’t mind at all as I wandered around the store snapping photos and asking questions If you love beads or would like to take some jewelry making classes, stop by and see Judy! Her tastefully decorated shop is a great hang out spot and you will quickly become addicted

Here is my mom’s first copper bracelet from the wire class. A true unique piece of art!

Aikido

Today’s post is a personal one. A little glimpse of who we are…..actually, who my husband is Jim has practiced the martial art of Aikido for many years. I believe it is a form of therapy for him. Keeps his mind, body and soul in balance. He is an active member of Forsyth Aikido but from time to time, he will just find a quiet spot to work out and meditate. I don’t often ask to tag along because this is his time for personal thought and reflection. Everyone needs that and we respect each other’s “me” time.

Last weekend, I asked to tag along with my camera and he patiently endured He really is the best person I’ve ever known. He puts up with my repeated camera directions and my SLIGHT bossiness

We were out in the woods at dusk. Some of these were taken at ISO 2500 and still very usable. Love the Nikon D700!

Little Lucas just turned 3 months old! He is part of our Baby’s First Year Plan and we are so excited to be with this family during his first year! I first met Megan when we photographed Olivia’s first birthday over a year ago. Since then, we have become really good friends We photograph Olivia a couple of times each year so she knows us pretty well and even though she likes me…..she LOVES Jim! She gives him the biggest smiles and does not hesitate to run and give him a big hug I think we got some pretty precious portraits to celebrate her second birthday

This is our second model shoot for StudioWed by Mirela. Mirela designs fabulous, high end bridal accessories for your wedding day including hair accessories, bridesmaid accessories, flower girl accessories and wedding bouquets. She also designs beautiful flower girl dresses and children’s boutique items. We love these model shoots because we can get really creative with location and posing. And……we got to use our new antique settee! We’ve been dying to use this for a session It’s a lot of fun for us plus the ladies get to wear their wedding dresses again! Vada contacted us about having a portrait session with her boyfriend’s adult children…..as a birthday surprise for him! Vada is one of the sweetest ladies that we have had the pleasure to work with. She is one of those people that you want to hug every time you see her and what a thoughtful gift this was to her boyfriend! As far as siblings go, Cindy and Phillip are very close and a joy to photograph We had no trouble getting them to pose together and be affectionate! Its so hard to find siblings who actually like each other now a days
